April 19, 2024We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Titiaka Boressa Ltd, as we embark on a journey to empower rural women through sustainable and innovative agro-processing solutions. Together, we aim to become a leading player in the agricultural sector, setting a model for social and economic development in rural areas.
Our Mission: Our mission is clear: to create sustainable livelihoods for rural women by processing locally grown agricultural produce. Through the use of innovative and environmentally-friendly technologies, we strive to produce high-quality, nutritious, and value-added products. Gender equality and women's empowerment are at the core of our mission, as we aim to contribute to the overall economic development of our communities.
Our Stories: Titiaka Boressa, established in 2018, envisions empowering rural poor widows in Ghana's Upper East Region through the production of Grade A shea butter. As a pro-poor organization, they provide capacity building training, establish small-scale economic activities for women groups, and advocate for indigenous seed cultivation and agro-ecological farming practices. Over the years, they have positively impacted the lives of marginalized communities, particularly women farmers.
Our Goals and Objectives:
- Empower women in rural areas through training and employment opportunities in agro-processing.
- Increase the value of locally grown agricultural products by processing them into value-added goods, thus boosting farmers' income.
- Expand market access for local agricultural products by identifying and targeting new markets.
- Foster entrepreneurship and innovation among rural women by providing support and resources for starting and growing agro-processing businesses.
Our Approach: Our approach to sustainable community development centers on the principle of empowering people living in poverty as active agents of change. We facilitate the process while allowing constituents to drive their own agenda, leading to sustainable development.
Meet Our Board: Our organization is governed by a five-member board consisting of professionals and educators with experience in social work and civil society operations. Three out of five board members are women, highlighting our commitment to gender equality. Together, they oversee and manage our operations, guided by our shared vision for empowering rural communities.
We are excited about the journey ahead and look forward to making a meaningful impact together. Stay tuned for updates on our progress!
